Recent Thriller Films- The last exorsism-

'The Last Exorcism' is a horror, psycological thriller. It is similar to ours because it is the same genre and certificate; psychological Thriller and certificate 15. Another similarity is that there is a character who is trying to do the best for another person, in this case it is the Reverend  trying to help the young girl, and in our film it is Daryl trying to help Willow.


Plot- 
Reverend Cotton Marcus recruits a documentary film crew to film his last exorcism of his career. He receives a letter off a desperate farmer who's daughter has been possessed by the devil. Reverend Marcus is their last hope and attempt to rid the demon from her.
certificate: 15 disturbing violent content and terror, some sexual references and thematic material.


Advertising; 
The advertising poster shows the young girl who is possessed by the devil. The name of the film is clearly shown big and bold in the centre and information saying who wrote it and who stared in it. The main colour are red and white to represent blood and innocence, it also looks as though it is slightly overexposed. However this poster was banned in the UK after complaints that it was unsuitable and distressing for public display.

'Rotten Tomatoes' says, it doesn't fully deliver on the chilly promise of its Blair witch-style premise, but the last exorcism offers a surprising number of clever thrills.

The trailer starts with short clips of the begining of the film and every so often fades in a title screen with a bit about the film for example the actors, characters, whats happening. it starts off bright and the further into the trailer the shorter the clips become and the darker the lighting. the colours red, white and black run through out the trailer and the film in the lighting, clothing and scenery.


I have researched his film because it is similar to the type of film we are wanting, for example it has a strange twist at the end, there are killings, a bit of blood also it keeps the audience wanting more and has them on the edge of their seat to find out what happens and how it get resolved.
